Husband is King and Wife is Slave.

I am sure that you will be shock because of my entry's tittle. It was true in Vietnam very long time ago. The Vietnamese women did not have any right in their family even they were not allowed to go to school. Every body thought that women just stayed at home, gave children and took care of family. So it no need for women to study.
There is a famous proverb in Vietnam that is, "When the women are home, they have to follow their father. When they get married, they have to follow their husband. And when their husband passed away, they have to follow their son." I mean the Vietnamese women who lived in an unfair society had to follow the men in their family. Moreover, they could not eat in the same table with their husband but in the kitchen because they were almost slave in their family. One more thing was that they had to give at least one son. If they just gave daughter, their husband would divorce them and marry to a new wife who could give sons for them.
Nowadays, Vietnamese women have more right in their family. We can go to school and have a job. There are a lot of women who can earn much money then their husband. I was born in a fair society and I am so happy about that. I even don't know what I should do if I were born in that periods.
I don't know a lot about American history. I just know that, American women have a lot of rights here. Maybe they are more important than men. I am sure that you at least one time have heard that, "Ladies first". Yeah, I love that. In addition, husband and wife both have to work and take care their family. And women have their own right to decide some problems in their family.
Do you think it is better?

Privacy in U.S.

Before I came here, I've studied about American Culture in University. That was why I know a little bit about it. But when I'm here, I know some more things. And one of them is that there are a lot of differences between U.S. and Vietnam about privacy.
First of all, there are many family members live in a same roof, so there is not enough room for everybody. Unlike that, almost everybody has their own room here and no one can come in without their permission even they are the small kids. In my opinion, it is better because every body has their own right to keep privacy.
Another one is that when they are eighteen, they would like to move away from their home. They want to live independently. In some cases, some one cannot do that.When his/her friends ask them where they live, it's a little bit weird when they say they still live with their parents. However, Vietnamese would like to live with our parents than live by ourselves. When we get married, we live in our own house. Our houses are often near our parents' one.
There are a lot of things different from here and my country. However, I will follow some new culture and also keep our own one. I think it is better than just keep the old one or forget them and just follow the new one.

My First Entry

Have you been asked this question, " If you were in trouble, who will you think about first?". I am sure that the person that you think about is very important to you and you love most. And if you ask me, I will think about my Mom first.
First reason is that Mom is the person I love most. When I was born, my family's economy was getting better. That was why Mom and others love me so much. Especially is my Mom. She gave me a lot of good things.
The next reason is that Mom is the person who I will share my thinking, I hopes and some thing that I do not want to talk with others. She understands me and knows what I want to say before I talk. Sometimes i have some troubles, she help me to solve them because she is an experienced one.
Another reason is that I had to live far away from home since I graduated from high school. And now I am living in another country so I can meet her like I did before. I do not have many chances to talk with her because the difference of time-belt . I miss her so much now.
My family is a big one with 8 members, my parents have to work so hard to give their kids the best things. I cross my heart I will try to be one of their good kids by studying hard and being a good one.
